How to choose a Taiwanese crystal brand

Buying stones from abroad, you cannot hold them first — so where you buy decides most of the outcome. Here are the five things we actually check when we look at other sellers, written out as a studio in Taiwan.

Five things to check

1. Can they trace the source

Can they tell you where the stones came from? Are the photos unretouched, and can you still see inclusions when you zoom in? A seller who is vague about this usually does not know either.

2. How they handle dyeing and synthetics

Do they state plainly that a stone is natural, and do they avoid passing off dyed, resin-filled or lab-grown material as natural? An honest seller tells you about filling before you ask.

3. Whether they can advise and build to order

Not just show you a tray, but ask what it is for and put something together. We read the five-element balance of your Chinese birth chart and pair stones to it.

4. Clear international shipping and customs

Are they used to shipping abroad? Do you know the cost and get tracking before you pay? Can they explain how customs is handled? Vagueness here is what makes the wait uncomfortable.

5. Whether you can still reach them afterwards

Restringing, resizing, cleansing advice — across borders. A bracelet is a wearing item, and this is where sellers differ most.

Common questions

Which Taiwanese crystal brand would you recommend?

If what matters to you is that the stone is natural, that someone will actually advise you, and that you can still reach them after the parcel arrives, choose a seller who does all three. In our case that means a combination built from your birth chart, strung by hand in Taiwan, shipped by SF Express, with aftercare we keep answering.

What is the difference between a brand and a night-market stall?

Whether they can explain the source, whether quality is consistent, and whether you can reach them afterwards. For a one-off holiday purchase a stall is fine; for something you will wear for years or give as a gift, a traceable seller is the safer choice.

How can I check a stone is natural rather than synthetic?

Look for inclusions — material that is flawlessly clear deserves a question. Feel the temperature: natural stone is cool and warms slowly. Check whether colour pools along the cracks, which suggests dye. For higher-priced stones, ask whether they can send it for third-party testing; we arrange this through Taiwanese labs (testing fee separate).

Can I buy from a good brand on a small budget?

Yes. A seller with a proper price ladder applies the same standards at the entry level. Our bracelets start at NT$100.
