The straight answer first: no Qi Yi Crystal shop in Britain

Qi Yi Crystal is a natural crystal bracelet brand from Taichung, Taiwan, and the Taichung shop is the only one we have. It holds a 5.0-star Google rating, and all the hand-stringing happens there. We don't have a London showroom, a department-store concession, a market pitch or a UK stockist, and nobody can collect an order in person.

What we do have is an English-language site that delivers to 60+ countries and regions, the United Kingdom among them. Everything a customer here buys is ordered online and couriered from Taiwan by SF Express international, trackable end to end.

Six checks for any crystal bracelet seller, near or far

A genuine crystal bracelet and a dyed or synthetic one can look much the same in a product photo. Whether the seller is round the corner or on the other side of the world, put the same six questions to them before you pay rather than after the parcel lands.

• Ask what each bead is, and whether any of it is dyed or synthetic. Qi Yi Crystal lists each bead's stone type and size, and the custom builder also shows unit price.
• Can you see bead-level pricing? A lump sum tells you very little. In our custom builder the stone type, diameter and unit price of each bead are published, and swapping one bead recalculates the total instantly.
• How is sizing handled? A careful seller tells you exactly what to measure and what the number means, rather than offering small, medium and large.
• Is making time stated separately from delivery time? They are different stages, and one vague figure hides both.
• What is the returns position on ready-made pieces compared with made-to-order ones? It should be written down before you buy, not negotiated afterwards.
• What does the seller say the bracelet will do for you? We make no health, luck or money claims; our stones are chosen for colour, symbolism and how they look on the wrist.

Buying in person or ordering from a Taiwan workshop: a fair comparison

Buying in person suits you if you want the bracelet today, if you like to feel how a 10mm bead sits compared with an 8mm one, or if you want to judge a colour in daylight before committing.

Ordering from a workshop suits you if the piece you have in mind isn't sitting in anybody's display tray: a particular run of stones, a mostly clear strand with two or three coloured accents, a formula built from a date of birth, or a wrist size that ready-made gemstone bracelets never seem to fit. You give up same-day ownership; in return the bracelet is strung after you order, to your own measurement.

There is a cost side to be honest about as well. A parcel from Taiwan is an import, so UK import VAT and a courier handling fee may be due before delivery, and once making time is counted the wait runs to weeks rather than hours. Plenty of people do both: a simple beaded bracelet bought locally, a personalised one ordered for an occasion.

What Qi Yi Crystal is, and what the readings are not

We are a bracelet maker first. Custom pieces are built mainly around clear-bodied, transparent natural crystal, and you choose whether the overall feel is clear, mixed or opaque. Natural stone carries ice cracks, cloud-like inclusions known as veils, and slight colour variation from bead to bead. These are normal, not defects, and they mean no two strands are exactly alike.

We are not a fortune-telling service. The BaZi, Chinese zodiac and star sign formulas on the site are produced by AI calculation — an algorithm — and there is no fortune-teller or human reader behind them. Five-element, zodiac and star sign pairings are folk culture and symbolism, with no scientifically proven effect. Treat a formula as a starting point and change any bead you like.

Five ways to design a bracelet from your sofa

None of the routes needs any background in Chinese metaphysics, and all five finish at the same workbench in Taichung. Many of our overseas customers grew up in Chinese or wider Asian families, heard about BaZi or their zodiac animal from parents and grandparents, and now search for it in English. The site works in English and Traditional Chinese, and the BaZi chart handles the Chinese calendar automatically, so an ordinary date of birth is all you type in.

Sizing when you can't try it on

Sizes on the site are in centimetres, which suits most British buyers. Wrap a soft tape measure once round the wrist, read the actual circumference and choose that exact figure. Wrist sizes run from 11cm to 22cm in 0.5cm steps, and beads come in 6mm, 8mm and 10mm diameters.

The habit to drop is rounding up. Our system already works out the slack from the bead size you pick, so padding the measurement yourself only makes the bracelet too loose. If the only tape in the house is in inches, multiply by 2.54 — 6.5 inches × 2.54 ≈ 16.5cm — and the full range of 11–22cm is about 4.3–8.7 inches. There is no minimum bead count on custom pieces.

Ordering basics for UK customers

Prices are set in New Taiwan dollars, and from the UK the site shows them in pounds (£) as a conversion. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are charged in pounds, and the exact amount and currency are shown before you confirm payment. PayPal is the exception: it is charged in New Taiwan dollars and PayPal does the conversion. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. International shipping is already included in the displayed price, nothing is added for delivery at checkout, and the minimum overseas order is NT$1,500.

We do not charge UK VAT at checkout. Goods bought from overseas are generally subject to UK import VAT, and the courier may collect VAT and a handling fee before delivery; these are paid by the recipient, and we do not collect or absorb them. HMRC and GOV.UK are the authoritative sources.

Made-to-order bracelets take about 7–14 working days to hand-string, in-stock pieces dispatch sooner, and SF Express transit to the UK is about 3–7 business days after dispatch. All of these are estimates only, and we never promise an arrival date. In-stock items can be returned or exchanged within 7 days of receipt; made-to-order bracelets cannot be returned except for genuine defects.
